Farid Attar

PHD CANDIDATE

Farid was born in Shiraz, Iran, a city renowned for its rich cultural heritage and history. He completed his Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering from Shiraz University, with a focus on biodiesel production and the construction of solar stills. He then pursued his Masters degree in Chemical Engineering from the Sharif University of Technology, where he specialised in photocatalytic water treatment and statistical analysis.

Following the completion of his Masters degree, Farid worked as a research assistant and program coordinator for 1.5 years at Shiraz University, with a specialisation in water treatment.

In February 2021, Farid began his PhD program in the School of Engineering at the Australian National University. His research interests are centered on electrochemical and photoelectrochemical water splitting, sustainable energy, and green hydrogen.

His dedication to finding innovative and sustainable solutions for the future drives his work, and he is passionate about contributing to the advancement of the sustainable energy industry.
