Facilities
We are located in the ANU’s Engineering, Computing & Cybernetics precinct. Research in the ANU School of Engineering encompasses materials and manufacturing, robotics, telecommunications, systems, and control of massively complex networks. We enjoy world-class research facilities in a well-connected urban centre, in close proximity to the ACT and Australian government.
Our state-of-the-art laboratories meet high scientific standards and is equipped with cutting-edge gas chromatographers, multi-channel potentiostats, solar simulators, microscopes and wet chemistry benches. We also have access to the ACT node of the Australian National Fabrication Facility and to the ANU Centre for Advanced Microscopy for further microfabrication and characterisation tools.
The ANU is home to three Makerspace Centers that offer tools and capabilities for building sophisticated prototypes. Some of the equipment include Trotec 360 Laser Cutter, Nomad desktop CNC Router, Protomax Abrasive Waterjet cutter, Reflow soldering station, Tormach PCNC770 CNC Mill, Aon M2+ Industrial High temperature 3D printer, Manual lathe and mill, Bandsaw, drill press, welding equipment DMG HSC75 Machining Centre.
